Can I have two different languages translated one after the other?

Hello,

Problem: We have two speakers, one in German and one in Spanish. First, someone speaks in Spanish, which is then translated by a second speaker for the majority of the congregation who speak German. However, the church program can only translate one language and does not recognize the other language, leading to translation issues, delays, and strange translations.

  • Is it possible to set it up so that both languages are translated one after the other? I don’t think so.

Thank you for your help. Kurt Zellweger GvC St. Gallen

    Hey @Kurt Zellweger,

es war einfacher als Gedacht, eine der zwei Sprachen zu ignorieren.

I habe eine Sprache “German (Switzerland) / Spanish” angelegt. Diese Sprache wird dein Schweizer deutsch übersetzen und Spanish ignorieren.

Falls du lieber Spanisch übersetzen möchtest und Deutsch ignorieren, sag gerne Bescheid. Dann richte ich dir das morgen ein.

Bitte bedenke falls nur Spanisch gesprochen wird, kann diese Sprache nicht genutzt werden. Dann musst du “Spanish” auswählen.

    Hoffe das Hilft,

    freundlicher Gruss

    Hey @Kurt Zellweger @Preben Westh ,

I enabled the following three models:

    • German (multi)

    • English (multi)

    • Spanish (multi)

They will translate from German, English, Spanish - and ignore all other languages spoken.

@Preben Westh With the current services we use, I was not able to create the models for Russian and Ukrainian. I’ll create a follow up task for that - but that might take a bit longer, as I have other important tasks to complete.

PS: You might see spoken text from other languages in the textarea, however it won’t be sent for translation.

Hope these models work for you!

For a church service where you only translate from a single language - I would recommend the regular models.

        Hey Preben,

seems like the speech model mistakenly flags some danish as english causing the problem. Sadly that is all I can do for now as a workaround.

I’ll have to take a look at a final solution for all languages as part of this ticket:

    Hi Kurt,

      Hi Dennis.
We have a simular request in our church
      From English to Danish

      From Russian to Danish

      From Ukraine to Danish

      From Spanish to Danish

      Kind regards

        Hey @Preben Westh,

do you want to use "Danish” as your source for your translations - and ignore the speech for Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish?

If so, I’ll build one model to listen to Danish, and ignore all others.

@Kurt Zellweger Falls ich es missverstanden habe, und du willst lieber Deutsch und Spanisch übersetzen, dann kann ich das auch morgen einrichten.
